AlgaEnergy has participated once again in the ‘Biostimulant World Congress’, which celebrated its fourth edition and wherein AlgaEnergy was a Gold sponsor. The event took place in Barcelona from the 18th to 21stNovember. More than 1,500 professionals from the biostimulant industry were able to discover AlgaEnergy’s value proposition for a more sustainable agriculture: its agricultural biostimulant based on microalgae, AgriAlgae®. The AgriAlgae® biostimulants are produced with different strains of these microorganisms combined in the right proportion and are cultivated by AlgaEnergy in its own facilities.
Hence, AlgaEnergy was able to demonstrate the advantages that AgriAlgae® offers, such as increasing crops’ yields, optimizing qualitative traits of fruits and vegetables and reinforcing stress resistance to specialized professionals from all over the world. These benefits translate into a greater profitability for the farmer. In addition, one of the most outstanding benefits is the environmental sustainability of the product. Not in vain, for each 5 liters of product that the farmer consumes, he is preventing the emission of 2 kg of CO2 into the atmosphere, since CO2 is the main nutrient used in the microalgae culturing process, from which AgriAlgae® is derived.
Active participation of AlgaEnergy
AlgaEnergy participated in this fourth edition in an active way. On the one hand, with a stand in which its different ranges of biostimulants as well as the technology and R&D projects that the company leads, had a prominent space.
AlgaEnergy also delivered a presentation, given by Douglas Ry Wagner, AlgaEnergy’s President of International Agribusiness. Under the title ‘Biostimulants: a key input for integrated crop management’, Wagner informed attendees how AlgaEnergy is demonstrating that products derived from different species of microalgae can provide very valuable tools to optimize crop yield at all stages of plant growth and development. Likewise, “unlike common seaweed, microalgae represent a great diversity within the plant kingdom and provide compounds with the ability to create unique biostimulants and biopesticides in the market“, Wagner added.
Concerning the participation of AlgaEnergy in the congress, Carlos Rodríguez-Villa, Director General of the company, points out that: “Attending this event has been an important step forward in order to showcase our value proposition that is based on innovation, efficiency and sustainability. This visibility gained during the event, not only for our biostimulants but also for AlgaEnergy as a company, which is the result of several decades exclusively dedicated to R&D, affords us an advantageous position in order to boost our internationalization” Rodríguez-Villa adds.
