ASAJA, Spain’s leading agrarian professional organization, and AlgaEnergy, company of international reference in the field of microalgae biotech, have signed today a Collaboration Agreement thanks to which the members of ASAJA will have access to relevant benefits while acquiring any of AlgaEnergy’s range of agricultural biostimulants, commercialized under the trademark AgriAlgae®.
The aforementioned Agreement was signed by Mr. Pedro Barato and Mr. Juan Sánchez-Brunete, President and General Secretary of ASAJA respectively, and by AlgaEnergy’s President, Mr. Augusto Rodríguez-Villa. From this moment, AlgaEnergy enters the “Online Platform for Joint Orders”, leveraged by ASAJA in order to boost the concentration of the inputs demand by their farmers, which are essential to carry out their activity. With the signature of this Agreement, the new category of “Biostimulants” has been opened at the mentioned online platform, in which currently only AlgaEnergy offers its products.
Through initiatives such as this one, ASAJA has the objective of promoting the competitiveness of its members. In this specific case, according to the signed Agreement, AlgaEnergy offers very advantageous conditions to ASAJA’ associates, including tailored technical advisory and direct discounts on the acquisition of its products, derived from different strains of microalgae, which have demonstrated extraordinary results in any kind of crop. These highly beneficial effects, including increase in quality traits, yields and better response to stressful situations, have been verified by independent reputed research entities as well as numerous farmers at an international level. In addition to the economic benefits, AgriAlgae® also puts into value the environmental responsibility of the farmer who uses it, since AlgaEnergy’s business model is circular: in order to produce the microalgae biomass processed to produce 5 liters of AgriAlgae®, it was necessary to biofixate2 kg of CO2 during the cultivation process, reducing emissions from other industries into the atmosphere –in this case from its shareholder, the public company IBERDROLA-.
