Dr. García Guerrero, Professor of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Seville, has, among other awards, the Praise of the Order of Civil Merit and the Praise plate with the Order of Alfonso X the Wise. He is an academician of the Seville Academy of Sciences.
