Linked to the National Research Council (CSIC) since 1975, García Guerrero has been part of its research staff and has held various institutional functions in the council. He has directed more than a dozen doctoral theses and is co-author of three books; among other awards, he is in possession of the Knights of the Order of Civil Merit and the Knights plate with the Order of Alfonso X the Wise. He is an academician of the Seville Academy of Sciences.
