AlgaEnergy attended Fruit Attraction, the International Trade Show of international reference for the Fruit and Vegetable Industry that took place in Madrid from 18th to 20th October 2017.

AlgaEnergy participated for the third time in a row in this reputed event, in order to present to the market our value proposition. With this proposition, we want to contribute to face the challenges of our society and the agri-food industry more efficiently and sustainably. Our contribution comes through offering an innovative solution targeting for a more competitive agriculture: the range of agricultural biostimulants based on microalgae, AgriAlgae®.
Our stunning stand had an undeniable protagonist: the PBR 2000, a photobioreactor which, with more than a kilometer of glass tubes, did not let anyone indifferent. This photobioreactor is only a small-scale example of the most advanced technology AlgaEnergy has developed, which makes us a world benchmark in microalgae cultivation. Regarding the attendance at Fruit Attraction 2017, Carlos Rodríguez-Villa, AlgaEnergy’s General Manager, pointed out that “the company has met all its expectations, and AlgaEnergy has positioned itself as the reference in the microalgae industry”. “We have brought our technology closer to thousands of professionals of the fruit and vegetable industry, and they have gotten to know all the benefits that using AgriAlgae® on their crops can provide”, adds Rodríguez-Villa.
AgriAlgae® Premium, one of the key innovations showcased at Fruit Attraction
Fruit Attraction became the best scenario to show the effort AlgaEnergy has made in order to develop innovative highly efficient solutions, only possible due to our strong commitment to R&D. In fact, we presented our new range of agricultural biostimulants named “AgriAlgae® Premium”.
AgriAlgae® Premium was one of the innovations presented at Fruit Attraction 2017 and generated great interest amongst the attendees.
The technology developed by AlgaEnergy -the most advanced in the world- allows us to elaborate tailor-made formulas to provide crops with what they need according to each of their growth stages. The new range includes specific products for the most critical phenological phases, which are key to determine the crop’s performance and the fruits’ quality, such as rooting, sprouting, flowering, fruit setting, and ripening and fattening. The products of this new range optimize its different microalgae strains combination, together with several macronutrients and micronutrients, in order to provide the plant with the tools it needs in each phase and at the right moment. The range also includes “AgriAlgae® Premium Stress”, a product tailored to reinforce the natural defense mechanisms of the plant, and help it recover from stress situations.
This range was one of the innovations presented at the 9th Edition of Fruit Attraction, and generated great interest amongst the attendees and the media covering the event. In fact, AgriAlgae® Premium was one of the most outstanding innovations, having a leading role at the innovation platform “Pasarela Innova”.

AlgaEnergy took advantage of our presence at Fruit Attraction 2017 in order to launch an exclusive website for its range of agricultural biostimulants AgriAlgae®: www.agrialgae.com.
In this new website, producers and farmers can keep themselves updated of all relevant developments, i.e. discovering the excellent results of AgriAlgae® on many crops through a section exclusively dedicated to field trials.

Carlos Rodríguez-Villa highlights the importance of this milestone: “The new website is a good way to get closer to the farmers, as well as a direct channel to satisfy all their needs. For instance, our clients will have access to the most useful technical information about the different products, including many externalized field trials that certify AgriAlgae®’s effectiveness in different crops and conditions, across different geographies”, he adds.
One of the benefits of this new website is the possibility of buying online AgriAlgae®. The farmer can browse at the online store in a very intuitive way, choose the product that suits his needs and buy it in just a few clicks, in a quick and easy way. The online shop will be available only for Spain (excluding Canary Islands) at its first phase, but will be launched internationally as well.
Regarding the online shop, Rodríguez-Villa mentioned that “offering AgriAlgae® through the website allows us to reach farmers in those regions where we do not have a distribution network yet. We are pioneers in this sense, which shows our commitment to a modern and innovative agriculture. There is no doubt that farmers are adapting themselves to new technologies quite fast, which will promote the development and competitiveness of the sector”, Rodríguez-Villa adds.
